AGM + Te Whatu Ora update
Join us for our Anuual General Meeting (brief meeting to discuss the branch activities and also for election of officers to the branch). There will be some food provided.
We will also have a 30 minute update and presentation by Sunitha Gowda from Te Whatu Ora/ Health NZ.
Sunitha Gowda is a public health dentist with a strong focus on community health and oral health service delivery. With over two decades of experience, she has been a dedicated fluoride advocate for Northland and has worked extensively to improve oral health policies and initiatives, particularly for Māori and Pasifika communities in New Zealand.
Sunitha holds a Master of Community Dentistry with Distinction from the University of Otago, a Master of Public Health from the University of Auckland, and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Bangalore University. She is also a member of the Board of Studies for Dental Public Health at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS). Currently, Sunitha serves as the Oral Health Advisor for Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora Northland, where she provides oversight on strategic planning and governance of oral health services in Northland. Recently, she led the development of a national model of care for rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease patients, ensuring equitable access to oral health services for these at-risk populations.
