Biography

Dr Katie Bach is a specialist paediatric dentist in Auckland. Katie has over 10 years experience as a specialist in private practice, and as a consultant at Auckland DHB. More recently she has opened up a new practice “Toothbuds” right next to her daughter's school in Grey Lynn, Auckland .

Katie graduated from The University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2008. Following this she worked as a dental registrar at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia, and at Auckland District Health Board. She then completed her specialist training in Melbourne through the University of Melbourne and the Royal Children’s Hospital. Katie graduated with a Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry (Paediatrics) in 2014. Katie was awarded an Advanced Trainee Fellowship from the New Zealand Ministry of Health to complete her specialty training.

Katie has previously held a Paediatric Dental Consultant position at Greenlane and Starship Hospitals, providing comprehensive dental treatment to a range of patients including those with complex medical and dental histories. She still holds a visiting consultant position, however her main focus is on providing specialist paediatric dental care to children in the community.  Katie has already been so well supported by colleagues in Northland and has been lucky enough to help treat multiple children from the Northland region in her new practice. Katie believes all children in New Zealand deserve the best dental care and is so pleased to have support from, and to be able to support the wonderful dentists in Northland.

Outside of work she is kept busy with her two young daughters and naughty puppy Ernie.
