Dr Rachel Moore - Orthodontist
This session will be a practical and engaging walk-through of orthodontic cases at different ages and stages, drawing on a wide range of real examples collected over the years. With plenty of photos and x-rays, the presentation won’t be heavy on theory but will instead focus on the kinds of scenarios dentists commonly encounter in practice.
The session will provide a valuable opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into everyday orthodontic decision-making — from interceptive strategies to tricky cases like whether or not to extract hypomineralised 6s. Expect a relaxed and interactive format that encourages discussion and real-world learning.
Biography
Dr Moore is a Specialist Orthodontist with more than 30 years of experience in orthodontics. She began her dental career in Whangārei in 1992, working in general practice before completing her Master’s degree in Orthodontics at Otago University in 1997. Since then, she has dedicated herself to private practice — first with Northland Orthodontics, and more recently at her rebranded practice, Your Smile Orthodontist. She also serves as Consultant Orthodontist for Whangārei Hospital, providing specialist support and mentoring for younger colleagues.
